Seeing Green!

So a friend threw a themed birthday party the 7 deadly sins so I found a black and green haired wig. Wore a green dress and went as Envy. I was tempted to just wear as much jewelry as feasibly possible. Not sure if I would be Gluttony or Greed heh. But if I was either I would definitely have the following into my collection.

Hobe 1960's set

Matisse Set
Playing with the iPhone again I took the a picture and made it black and white which I definitely prefer.

Green Glass Has It!

So for the next project in my enamel class I learned how to create a clear type of sheen and how layering the color created different textures.

Here you will see the golden glaze they call it flux and it looks like clear gold glass. Then I added white solid enamel.

Last step was adding the green over it all.

Matisse used flux as seen in this butterfly brooch

Last but not least here a picture of me no not wearing any jewelry but with a nice new hair trim which is alwas a nice thing to have.

Of course even better would be to have my hair this color. It reminds me if Nick Rhodes back in the day. How fun. Perhaps for burning man I liven it up some.

What I'm Wearing Wednesday

It's a great day today. The sunshine has just come out and I've been productive this morning. I have a vendor dinner so to dress up I wore one of my nicer Matisse pieces.

I love how subtle the enamel is on this necklace it a clear gold with black.  You would think yellow/gold wouldn't work with copper but it does nicely.

What I Wore a Different Day...

I went out last night and watched a movie. Didn't rest well through the night, got up and exercised at the gym late this morning. Rushed around to get ready for work, and so I have no "What I am Wearing Wednesday" post. But I did snap a shot last week on a different day. And here it is. A beautiful Matisse earring and necklace set, enamel and copper.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day above is a Coro Pin. If you click on the pictures you can see them large.I do not have any Shamrock jewelry. So I thought, what would I wear? And here is a few I picked out which I don't own but would in a heartbeat...or in my case a bigger wallet.

I love the art deco look of the Crown Trifari pendant above and if your a classic, always wear black, this would offset it very well.

I also like this Lisner necklace and pendant though I would most likely wear the brooch in my hair or maybe get some black ribbon wrap it around my wrist and wear it as a bracelet. (depending on how much it would stick up)

Love the sleek shine of the silver in the Whiting and Davis necklace, again you would need to wear a basic color. Perhaps plum.

Of course I would find a copper Matisse set I don't own it but it's lovely!

And last how about what I own which is this Austrian glass necklace and earrings. I'm not sure how long these earrings will stay on at work but very classy whoo!

What I'm Wearing Wednesday

Not all copper is created equal. Today wearing my crisp olive green shirt with a but of a military flare to it. I thought ah copper and knew exactly the pin to wear this vintage one by Renoir which I recently purchased at the Pasadena Swap Meet.

Until I realized I would look some some Star Trek reject if I pinned that to my shirt so that nixed that pin. So I grabbed another one I got at the swap meet below:

It's probably modern, but it was two flowery. Yup I was having a true Goldie Locks scenario. Upon looking at both I realized not all copper is created equal in that the Renoir is a richer pink hue and the other has a more brassy hue.

Needless to say I while I think copper is a great color to pair with olive green no matter the hue, I gave up and went with some flashy earrings. Ahhh just right!

What I'm Wearing Wednesday

Go Fly a Kite!
Just having some fun here. This is my latest acquisition from a swap meet. It's a Renoir Matisse Kite pin with a red tone with some yellow over the copper. Whimsical and fun. Looks like it also comes in blue, image below.

What I'm Wearing Wednesday

Sometimes you have to wonder what type of sense of humor designers have. The copper necklace and earrings I'm wearing are of course my favorite designer Renoir and are called "Swiss Cheese"

Now I didn't like Swiss Cheese when I was a child, but I do as an adult! Not only the food but the jewelry too!

What I'm Wearing Wednesday

I realized as I grabbed a pair of silver hoops I'm wearing a top that has a copper color in it. A total non-match as I was driving to work.

This happens when your trying to wrap up work and go on vacation. A big vacation, where I will not be back until September.

On to September, back to school and fall then looms so as a I'll be back then here is a pin and earring set I will be wearing in the fall by Mattise and is vintage.

What I'm wearing Wednesday

When you have the blah's try something different. Hence the black and white photo. I'm currently preparing for a very long vacation/trip. I look forward for the reset that will happen plus the time to think away from the norm.

In the meantime I'm wearing my comfort jewelry which usually is my copper pieces. This necklace is from my Renoir collection.

What I'm Wearing Wednesday

The nice thing about have a good amount of jewelry to wear is when you have that last minute wardrobe change happen before you walk out the door. Today was one of those days.

I went from Lucky Brand earrings to grabbing this jacket and switching to a blue toned Matisse copper enamel palette pin.

Vacation and birthday

It's vacation and birthday time.

Of course when you go on a trip you have to pick out a few choice pieces to take. For me it's my favorite copper Renior bracelet See a previous post for image with a Rame pendant necklace. And this time my Matisse Wind Song brooch. I'll be back at the end of the month.

What I'm wearing Wednesday

Today I went for a simple bracelet with a bit of a geometric design.

Having tiny wrists, it very difficult for me to find and wear bracelets. Most bangles are out as they tend to fall right off. So it needs to be a hinged or a cuff type of bracelet. Though there are some vintage clasp bracelets I can wear.

Again here is my love of copper. This bracelet I got at the Pasadena swap meet.

What I'm wearing Wednesday

(Vintage necklace - Renoir)
I bought this at a local swap meet. At that moment my love of vintage copper jewelry was born.
